Well please forgive the fact that we are just entering the world of domaining, and this question will surely expose that.

What do you do to taste a domain. My impulse would be that by tasting it you get to see how much direct traffic it gets without you putting a site there.. Is that the whole idea or is there more to it?

Thanks
e

***REPLY FROM DOMAINERPRO***

Yes, that's right. Upon registering the domain you immediately change the DNS settings, usually to park the domain with a parking service that you have a membership with, such as Sedo.com or DomainSponsor.com. Immediately you will begin to see what sort of traffic it's getting and the earning potential.

hi
i own several domains (krew.com, babbo.com, leadingcompanies.com, africareport.com). I'm not really using these domains at the moment and am consering parking them with sedo.com

I also own www.proudofusa.com and www.proudofamerica.com and wonder what (and how!!) to do with them. With the US elections coming up wonder if this could become social networks/blogs or even retail sites?
any ideas?

Owen Frager had a great post today as usual about Call to Action Domains and he put a great link to Creative Domain Marketing.
They have an updated list of businesses/big corporations that have purchased these great catchy domain phrases (Call to Action Advertising).

http://searchdomainsforsale.com/creative-domain-marketing.htm

Some have even been used as superbowl ads...
The great thing is there are still alot available to register if you get creative or dreaming...

Great Dream !!!

I can see this happening in the not too distant future.

domain names consisting of catchy, widely used phrases will be the next big thing. It doesn't matter if they are long since everybody knows how to type it.

also, everytime someone uses the phrase ' in the middle of the night' , that'll be free publicity for you!

nice one

***REPLY FROM DOMAINERPRO

I agree with you about catchy phrases becoming big in the future. It's exactly the kind of thing the slogan-oriented advertising industry gravitates to.

Bizarre. And fascinating. Love the detail of the dream. Crazy that you came out the other side with an actual domain name. Mind works in strange ways. What about midday.org??

Yes, the mind is a such a mystery, huh? Midday.org is already registered to someone called Portfolio Brains, LLC out of Los Angeles.

I personally love the domain!

Think of the possibilities as an e-mail address:

Dr.Dentist@InTheMiddleOfTheNight.com
loans@InTheMiddleOfTheNight.com etc...

Or, as a sub-domain:

CallMe.InTheMiddleOfTheNight.com
DoughnutsDelivered.InTheMiddleOfTheNight.com

Or, as a Call To Action Ad:

Tylenol PM.
www.InTheMiddleOfTheNight.com

Viagra...when you want it.
www.InTheMiddleOfTheNight.com

Really, You have got everything covered! I am beginning to feel like a mini Owen Frager...
Cheers! Great Domain!
